December 1st, Tindivanam – Marking a remarkable observance of World AIDS Day, the spirited students of Takshashila University took to the streets of Tindivanam with an engaging AIDS awareness rally and an impactful skit performance.

The rally, which set off at 11:00 a.m. from Theerthakulam, was flagged off by the distinguished Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. (Prof) Vivek Inder Kochhar, and the esteemed Registrar, Dr. (Prof) S. Senthil. With high spirits and determination, the participants paraded through the main thoroughfares, advocating for the prevention and control of HIV and AIDS, culminating their march at the Tindivanam Gingee Bus Stand at 11:45 a.m. The event, marked by enthusiasm and a shared commitment to societal welfare, included the distribution of refreshments to the students and guests, which recognized the faculty and staff’s support.

The awareness continued with a powerful stage program at 11:50 a.m., where Mrs. R. Kalaiselvi, the Chief Guest, presided over the skit, which saw active engagement from the student community. The performance eloquently highlighted themes of patient safety and public health. It was met with acclaim and served as an effective medium to underscore behavior change in the context of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Special applause was reserved for students of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Allied Health Sciences (AHS), and Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) programs, whose dedication significantly contributed to the event’s success.

Takshashila University is grateful for the unwavering support of its Honorable Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, and Registrar, without whom this Health Club initiative would not have been possible. This event not only shines a spotlight on the School of Physiotherapy, School of Allied Health Sciences, and the School of Pharmacy but also heralds the start of future endeavors that aspire to foster awareness and engender a tangible positive impact in healthcare.
